Senior SAP MM Consultant

Vertex Advisory Services looking for a Senior SAP MM (Materials Management) Consultant is a critical role in the consulting lifecycle, responsible for delivering business process consulting, solution design, development, configuration, and deployment of SAP MM solutions. This position requires an expert with deep knowledge of procurement and inventory management processes, integration with other SAP modules, and the ability to guide teams in delivering SAP-driven business transformations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Business Process Consulting & Solution Design:
   • Engage with clients to understand their business needs and pain points.
   • Define business problems and propose SAP-based solutions.
   • Conduct requirement gathering workshops and blueprinting sessions.
   • Design and document end-to-end business processes within SAP MM.
2. Configuration, Development, & Implementation:
   • Configure SAP MM modules to align with business requirements.
   • Work on master data, procurement processes, inventory management, valuation, and invoice verification.
   • Ensure smooth integration with SAP modules such as SD (Sales and Distribution), PP (Production Planning), WM (Warehouse Management), and FI (Financial Accounting).
   • Support development teams in custom enhancements (ABAP debugging, Fiori, and other UI enhancements).
   • Conduct unit testing, system testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
3. Project Management & Execution:
   • Guide teams in delivering SAP projects following best practices and industry standards.
   • Contribute to project scope definition, timelines, and deliverables.
   • Ensure adherence to quality standards and project methodologies (Agile, ASAP, Activate, etc.).
   • Lead data migration and cutover activities.
4. Stakeholder Engagement & Communication:
   • Act as a trusted advisor to clients by providing insights on SAP MM best practices.
   • Collaborate with business stakeholders to ensure alignment between SAP solutions and business objectives.
   • Facilitate end-user training and knowledge transfer sessions.
5. Pre-Sales & Proposal Development:
   • Assist in proposal development and estimation for new SAP MM implementations or enhancements.
   • Participate in pre-sales discussions, solution demonstrations, and proof-of-concept (PoC) development.
6. Continuous Improvement & Capability Building:
   • Stay updated with SAP innovations (e.g., S/4HANA) and best practices in materials management.
   • Mentor junior consultants and contribute to internal capability-building initiatives.
   • Drive automation and process optimization within SAP MM landscapes.

• Technical Expertise:
  • 8+ years of experience in SAP MM, including full-cycle implementations.
  • Strong hands-on experience in MM configuration (Procurement, Inventory Management, Pricing, Release Strategy, etc.).
  • Knowledge of SAP integration with FI, SD, WM, and PP.
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA MM migration and Fiori applications.
• Consulting & Business Acumen:
  • Deep understanding of procurement and inventory management business processes.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into SAP solutions.
  • Experience in handling complex SAP MM implementations and rollouts.
• Project Management & Leadership:
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Experience leading teams and coordinating across business and IT teams.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.

• SAP MM certification is a plus.
• Experience with Ariba or other procurement tools.
• Exposure to SAP Activate methodology.
• Knowledge of ABAP debugging and Fiori UI enhancements.
